TH9 HoGoWiPe
Description: Gowipe is a great strategy to use when farming or going for a 2 star war attack, but on higher level TH9s it typically will not get you 3 stars. Thus, the HoGoWiPe was born. It starts out as a normal GoWiPe attack would, straight line through the xbows on the side of the Archer Queen, but utilizes 10 hogs from the backside to "snipe" those pesky defenses that keep you from 3 starring with GoWiPe alone.
Things to consider - Must Read!
The HoGoWiPe is best used on TH9 bases where 1/2 of the base or more is considered "dense" and there are no possible double-big bombs on the dense side. You'll be sending in your GoWiPe troops from the less dense side, preferably near the Archer Queen if possible. Attack line should be straight through both xbows to allow your golems to tank for longer and for your Pekkas to do more damage on the inside.
TH9 Army Composition:
- 1 golem
- 3 pekkas
- 12 wizards
- 6 wall breakers
- 3 archers
- 8 hogs
- 1 witch
- 2 rage spells + 2 heal spells + 1 poison spell
- CC: 1 golem
TOTAL: 220 troops in camps + 30 troops in CC
Heroes: As HIGH in level as possible!
Time to Attack!
1. You'll start this attack on the less dense side of the base, preferably close to the Archer Queen and in a straight line from the Archer Queen. If that is not possible, perhaps the HoGoWiPe is not the best attack to be using on that base, especially with so many other powerhouse attacks to choose from at this level. First troops deployed is the inventory and CC golems spread far enough apart to draw fire from multiple defenses, but close enough that they'll come back to the hole in the wall your wall breakers make.
2. Deploy your wall breakers in groups of 2 near the compartment you want to start the GoWiPe portion of the attack from. Try to make this outside of any wizard towers line of fire, and time it right to avoid splash damage from mortar hits. You have another set of 2 wall breakers in case the first 2 miss the wall, and a third set to attempt to break down the second-layer wall or enter the same section from two angles if it is large enough.
3. While your golems are absorbing damage, and either right before or immediately after deploying wall breakers, you should deploy a few wizards on either side of the attack point to clear any structures outside of the wall. Preferably, you want to leave at least one outside structure near the blast point for wall breakers to draw your heroes and pekkas into your newly created hole in their base.
4. When the outer structures are cleared, and you have created a path for your golems to breach their walls, deploy your barb king, pekkas and archer queen and any remaining wizards so that they follow the golems into the base. When they enter the first section of the base is a great time to drop your first rage spell. The CC troops will most likely be drawn out of their castle at this time as well, make sure to hit them with the poison spell.
5. When your main attack force breaches the center section of the base, deploy a rage and a heal spell directly in the center of the base (if you have not already done so to get to the center). In the center of the base, your main attack force should be drawing fire from all sides so they'll need the help from your spells to push through. This is also a GREAT time to deploy your hogs and witch from the backside of the base, as the majority of the backside defenses will be otherwise engaged.
6. When deploying your hogs, keep them in 1 group, and if there is an xbow left firing at your main troops try to get to that as fast as possible. Have your heal spell ready to keep your hogs going as long as possible, and as always drop the heal where the hogs are going, not where they are. The witch should be deployed behind your hogs so as not to draw fire, but to start cleaning up and structures outside of the walls.
